These special quilts are made from layers of hand-spun and handwoven cotton ( khadi ) using natural indigo dye. The design in exquisite shibori (Japanese tie dye) is also hand-stitched. These superb medium weight quilts look stunning as bedcovers or throws. Each one of these handmade quilts is unique, as the textures in each design vary in intensity depending on the shibori. Vertical stripes shift in the middle of quilt. The reverse side of each quilt ( shown in two photos) is a deep rich indigo with intricate lines of white stitching.
